Encyclopedia Mom & Happy Fourth of July!

Fireworks Info & All This Week's Warren, Watchung, Green Brook & Long Hill Kid Activities

By Roseann Sicola, Macaroni Kid Warren June 26, 2014
My kids ask me all kinds of questions about stuff that I have no idea how to answer.  Often I'll tell them to ask Daddy, or I'll just say "that's a good question," and change the subject.  Sometimes I'll go to Google.  But every now and then I actually come up with an answer on my own that surprises even me.  Like the other day, we were driving to a movie and my 4 year old asked me why the road was all bumpy.  I started to give a quick answer, but then I launched into a rather detailed explanation of road paving. I think I even mentioned "milling" - that has something to do with road paving, right?  Now much of my useless knowledge comes from reading a ton of historical fiction in high school and college, but I don't remember any books about road crews, so I have no idea where my info came from.  I also have no idea whether it was even correct, but boy, did it sound good!  So kids, what else ya got?  Encyclopedia Mom is sure to know the answer, or at least make you think she does.
