Admit it - you've faked it.  The "that's great honey" after your kid shows you his 20th scribble picture, or the periodic, "wow, sounds incredible" while your child spends ten minutes recapping the entire plot line of this week's Ninja Turtle episode (spoiler alert - the turtles beat the bad guys then eat pizza).  Last night I overheard a mom in Home Goods pretending to be enthralled over her teenage daughter's description of a particularly good chai tea.  I've been faking it a lot this past week.  We're into month two of potty-training my 3-year old, and my enthusiasm for his accomplishments has waned significantly.  Not so for him - each achievement is still proudly announced to me with great fanfare, followed by "how many M&Ms I get?".  Not wanting any setbacks, I'm still cheering him on, but I'm not sure my acting skills are up to the continuing challenge of being exuberant over each flush.  I guess I'll keep faking it until the Diego pull-ups are relegated to the basement, but if that doesn't happen soon I may have to start enlisting the other boys as cheerleading stand-ins.  How long, I wonder, until they start faking it too?
