Tic-Tac-Toe-wel

July 13, 2011

Who said towels or just for drying off?

Want to produce hours of fun at the beach or lake? This Tic-Tac-Toe-wel provides plenty of sitting room and no beach toys to lug back to the car! Just fold it up and you are ready to go. What about the Xs and Ox you say? Kids will love to gather shells and rocks to use. They will need 5 of each.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Solid-color towel  (35x66 inch bath towels are a great size)
  2. 8 feet of grosgrain ribbon (bright color)
  3. Scissors
  4. Pins
  5. Needle and Thread
  6. Ruler

Instructions:

Cut ribbon into 4, 24-inch strips.  Create the tic-tac-toe board with the ribbon and center the it on the towel. Each square should be 8 inches. Pin ribbons in place. Sew down the center of the ribbons using the same color thread as ribbon.

Tip:  turn the ribbon ends under when you are sewing to avoid them fraying.

Enjoy!
