Fresh Fruit Salsa

By Sara McGill, Macaroni Kid Brandon PM March 30, 2011

This is my own version of something I have tried at a Pampered Chef party. The key here is to use fruit of any kind. Use what you have around the house. I do not suggest using bananas, however. If you try to save the salsa for leftovers, bananas don't look pretty the next day.

Choose four or five different colored fruits like strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, mandarin oranges, grapes, apples, etc.

Dice fruits very small, use a food chopper or place fruits in food processor and process briefly (do not puree). You want about one to one and a half cups of fruit.

In a small bowl, combine one tbs. lemon or lime juice, two tsp. Agave Nectar or honey, and a dash of cinnamon. Pour mixture over chopped fruit and toss to coat. Serve fruit salsa with cinnamon and sugar pita chips. I bought mine at Super Target. They are the Archer Farms brand.

This is a great recipe for kids to help with. Have your child measure and mix the salsa coating and pour pita chips in a bowl. Mine can't get enough of this stuff!
