Bad Dancing

A Sponsored Review

By Jared Ferruggia June 25, 2015
Bad Dancing, a great way to break to social barrier. Bad Dancing, a great way to meet new people and to really accept that you have achieved the ultimate level of failure.

A few weeks back I had the opportunity to go into the city to see an off Broadway show called Bad Dancing. I had no idea what to expect as we walked into the 4th floor lounge. After grabbing a drink we were shuffled into a small stadium style dark room. The lights went up, the music began and then "they" took the floor. Two gentlemen who looked harmless enough and then... The Bad Dancing began. The show had me laughing from the very first dance move. The actors in the show opened up with a classic remix of all your favorite Bad Dancing songs. The chicken dance, the electric slide, the macarena, I felt like I was back in 90's. It was amazing. This was the Bad Dancing Championship after all and you can't hold anything back.

Round 1:
They started pulling people onto the floor. I carefully averted my gaze as to not be picked. My boyfriend Jared Ferruggia, however, was not so lucky. He was pulled onto the floor and he had to, you guessed it, dance badly. All of the first round participants really show cased their worst moves and the laughing when to a whole new level.

Round 2:
The next round of dancing was all about the slow dance. Once again i looked at the floor but my bf and were pulled up to dance slowly to some classic "prom" songs. I am not the type to be on stage at all but the comedy of the moment distracted me long enough.

After round 2 was complete the show resumed with a faux synchronized swimming act that was so funny I almost fell off my chair. Then it was time....

Round 3:
THE FINALS
They scoured the crowd. Looking for just the right 2 people to pull onto that floor to compete in the Bad Dance Off.  They paced and pondered and then they chose. Jared, the bf, was pulled onto the floor. He was competing against a lady who looked less than thrilled to be chosen. The music started, the dancing commenced, the winners declared. There were trophies, headbands, and even a video on how to dance well. Jared and that very nice timid lady were the winners of failure for the evening.

The show was honestly one of the best I have ever seen. I laughed so hard from the first minute to the last. This is a show that the whole family can go to. Bad Dancing will run one more week until the end of June and then it will take a break until the Fall months. I would highly recommend going to see it. We all could use a good laugh now and then and who knows you may just walk out with a trophy!
